How it works
Everything from signup to installation happens online. Nothing complicated.
Create an account
Register on the member page and complete identity verification.
Apply for your server
Pick a plan and software, then choose your domain. No domain? Use a free one in the form name.hotoast.cc, or connect a domain you already own.
Register a payment card
Credit and debit cards issued anywhere in the world are welcome. Charges are billed in British Pounds (GBP) automatically each month.
Automatic installation
Once your application is complete, your server bakes itself — usually ready within minutes.

Frequently asked questions
I know nothing about servers. Is that okay?
Absolutely! Hotoast handles everything technical — setup, HTTPS, storage, and version upgrades. You focus on running your instance and growing your community.
Can I start without owning a domain?
Yes. We provide a free domain in the form name.hotoast.cc. If you'd like to buy your own domain, we're happy to help with that too.
Is my server created right after I apply?
Yes. Once you sign up, verify your identity, and complete your application, installation starts automatically and usually finishes within minutes. If you connect your own domain, you'll be guided through a one-time Cloudflare authorization step.
How do I pay?
Payment is by credit card. Charges are billed in British Pounds (GBP), and there are no fees beyond the listed prices. Cards issued anywhere in the world are welcome — your card issuer may apply its own currency conversion fee.
Which software can you install?
Misskey and Mastodon, plus CherryPick, the buttersc.one fork, and Mastodon Glitch Edition. Other forks can be installed on Large plans and above, and switching forks on a running server is available as an optional service.
Do you moderate my instance?
No. Hotoast only manages the technical side and never gets involved in moderation. What happens inside your instance is entirely up to you as its admin.
